Thank you for taking an interest in The Garden Design Company Scotland. I am Kirsty McLean, welcome!
Now that we are coming out of lockdown and things are normalising a little more we are happy to say that we can now make garden visits whilst still socially distancing.
Based in Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, I am an award-winning garden designer and writer and from 2001 - 2016 I was the guest designer for Beechgrove Garden, BBC Scotland’s longest running gardening programme.
In the last twenty years I have designed several hundred gardens of all shapes and sizes for a wide range of Clients including residential, commercial and community. From small courtyard gardens to the development of rural estates, my approach is very hands on and personal. My style of designing is recognised for its truly holistic and inclusive approach where the Client is key. I also specialise in discreet garden lighting designs, planting designs and garden styling.
I hope you enjoy looking through my website and that you find something that works for you. You can find out more about me, search for something to suit your needs from services, look at my recommended suppliers, read some feedback & published articles from my previous clients and look at a sample of the projects I have designed in my portfolio.
If there is anything you are unsure about, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
..."Kirsty was excellent throughout the design and execution process, a real joy to work with. The scope was to integrate a new build into an existing plot with a great garden layout. The new area had to be sympathetic with, and the design of the new build. Not an easy task but it has been achieved with aplomb. The whole experience of working with Kirsty was brilliant. It was very collaborative with lots of listening and challenge. Just what you need when you know what you want but don't really.
Kirsty helped with contractor selection and supervision. She was always at hand when needed. She also provided a fully costed planting schedule and helped with the sourcing of the plants.
Thank you from a very happy customer."
